Accelerating the Growth of eDiscovery Business Customized for Korean Companies
eDiscovery specialist company Intellectual Data (CEO Yongmin Cho) announced that it has acquired FRONTEO Korea, the Korean subsidiary of legal tech company FRONTEO. Intellectual Data acquired 100% of FRONTEO Korea's shares through a Stock Purchase Agreement (SPA) and plans to operate the company as a subsidiary.
Intellectual Data is a legal tech company that provides eDiscovery (electronic discovery) services specialized in responding to global litigation and disputes for Korean companies. It has established a data management system that reflects National Core Technology (NCT) protection requirements and the IT environments of domestic companies, and operates data centers in Korea and the United States as well as a US branch to support major domestic companies in responding to international disputes. It is also applying the latest technologies, including generative AI, to its eDiscovery services.
This acquisition is part of the eDiscovery business growth strategy that Intellectual Data has been pursuing. Through this acquisition, Intellectual Data plans to establish itself as Korea's only eDiscovery specialist company, and by combining the technology, specialized personnel, and project execution experience that both companies have accumulated in the market, further solidify the eDiscovery service system for Korean companies.
Since establishing its Korean subsidiary in 2011, FRONTEO Korea has carried out major international dispute projects. Services for existing FRONTEO Korea clients and ongoing projects will continue even after the acquisition.
